I like to say that I was “thrown” into the world of dog sports and training. Having grown up loving dogs, but only having one as a child, I leapt at the opportunity to work in a kennel. Four days after I started work at Branchwater, Clover was born. I had her named the first time I met her and knew it would be hard to see her go. When Doreen said she planned to keep her I was over the moon and offered to socialize her. Long story short, Clover’s socialization turned into Clover living with me and she soon turned into the most important thing in my life. Training her has been a treat and I think I have learned more than she has. After many sessions of obedience, I decided to show her in both obedience and rally, however as most border collies, her true passions are frisbee and agility. Frisbee is so enjoyable for both of us, and Clover excels in it. Recently I have been working with Finale, who doesn’t have as much drive but is a fun trick dog. I started teaching classes at Branchwater in January of 2014 and have loved seeing my students grow and progress. I do a lot of the website’s photography and really enjoy that aspect of the job, but working with dogs I have very few complaints. In addition to spending time at Branchwater, I am a third grade teacher. I love seeing young children bringing their dogs to classes!
