Julie’s love for animals started in her childhood and has grown into a passion. Julie started training her dog Cubby, an All American, as a medical assistance dog in 2013. She continued on with Cubby to work him in agility. From there her passion spiraled and she began to assist in the teaching of classes and adopted a very high drive All American dog named Bear. Bear has challenged Julie and helped her to learn and explore different training techniques. Julie has completed a dog-training and behavior program, and is working towards completing her CPDT in the near future. Julie is also one of our instructors who is certified to test dogs for the Canine Good Citizen, Canine Good Citizen Advanced, and Urban Canine titles. Julie has been teaching classes since 2014 and has had experience with a wide variety of breeds and training methods. Along with Cubby and Bear, Julie has a dog-like cat, Astro, a cardigan corgi, Polly, and a kitten named Bea, whom she adopted from us at Branchwater, all of whom live harmoniously. When Julie isn’t teaching classes here, you can find her in Branchwater’s office, or in the kennel working. When Julie is not here at Branchwater, she is helping out at other farms, exploring the outdoors with her family, or relaxing at home. In her spare time, Julie makes dog toys, beds, leashes, and collars. Feel free to ask her about her creations!
