I have been involved in dog training since 1980 when I began as an assistant instructor for the Lutherville/Timonium Recreation Council under Bill Hood. I then became the Training Director at Falls Road Animal Hospital in 1985 and remained in that position until 2011. I am Certified by the American Kennel Club as a Canine Good Citizen evaluator and am certified to evaluate for CGC, CGC Advanced and Star Puppy Programs. I have been involved in dog sports for many years. I have shown in conformation, obedience and agility. I have titled dogs in obedience through the level of utility. I am currently showing in agility in AKC and USDAA in the masters level. In the past I bred and showed Shetland Sheepdogs and in 1991 switched to Miniature Red Poodles. I currently breed and show Poodles. I am a member of the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors. I attend seminars and workshops to keep current on the latest training methods. I teach with a balanced approach always stressing positive reinforcement.
I am currently showing my poodle, Kahlua , in agility and will be starting her in Rally Obedience. We recently showed at the Westminster Kennel Club first Masters Agility Championship. I have a young poodle, Moxie, who is training for obedience and agility and will be showing soon.
