Cynthia Hornor has been competing in agility since 1997. She has put several championships on multiple dogs in both USDAA, AKC and UKI. She has been a multi time national finalist in both USDAA and AKC national events. She represented the USA on both the IFCS and WAO world teams in 2015, and the WAO team in 2016 with her border collie, Spice. At the IFCS event in Italy, she was a team bronze medalist. Spice won the 2015 AKC Nationals in the 16” division. Spice was, also, a 2016 AKC National finalist, winning Round 1 (JWW) and placing 3rd in the Hybrid round. Spice also won round 1 at the 2013 AKC nationals and competed in the “challengers round” in Tulsa, OK. Cynthia was on the 2nd place dam team at the 2010 USDAA Cynosport games and she finished 7th in the 20” class at the 2012 AKC Nationals in Reno, NV with her border collie, Rowdy. In 2013, Spice was the USDAA Grand Prix 22” National champion and Rowdy placed 3rd. Rowdy also placed 3rd at the 2014 USDAA Nationals in the P20 Performance Grand Prix. Spice was 3rd in the 2014 USDAA Nationals 22” Biathlon event. Cynthia is one of the very few agility handlers to be on the podium for two placements in Grand Prix finals. She has also won and placed highly at several USDAA Regional events, with several different dogs.
Cynthia believes agility should be fun for both dog and handler. She believes in helping to build a team’s full potential using positive reinforcement and consistent handling. She enjoys working with all breeds of dogs. She owns both Shelties and Border Collies, giving her an insight on what it takes to be successful running both large and small dogs.
